Nancy Fraim taught elementary school students for 39 years before retiring in 2015. During her tenure as a science teacher in the Downingtown Area School District, she taught her students the love of bluebirds. Ken Leister provided nest boxes for the school so that the students could witness the joy of bluebirding. It was then that these two bluebirders pioneered a new idea: putting a wireless camera in a nest box on the school campus. Students were able to watch what was happening in the nest box on a Smartboard in their classroom. For the next five years, they worked on perfecting the technology, as well as resigning the nest box to accommodate the camera. Nancy and Ken successfully accomplished installing Ring cameras in four elementary schools and one senior living facility.

Nancy is the Membership Chair and Chester County's co-coordinator for the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania. She is a guest lecturer at schools and other organizations. She resides with her husband, Joe, in Downingtown, PA.
